Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has confirmed that Chelsea were never in the race to sign Alexis Sanchez who has recently joined Manchester United from Arsenal. The player joined the Old Trafford ranks on Sunday in a straight swap deal with Mkhitaryan.
What could be described as huge news today is Real Madrid’s pursuit of Eden Hazard with the Spanish side looking to offer Marco Asensio as leverage. The young winger has had a fantastic season so far in La Liga given his age and there was talk that he would be the long term successor for Cristiano Ronaldo. It’s early days on this story and we’re unsure whether it has legs but certainly one to check back on again in the summer.
Edin Dzeko’s move is now carrying much more weight although photos of him getting out of a car with a bag should be ignored. The issue remains that Roma are still going to be losing their main striker and with the Italian side on a rebuilding mission may decide to take the cash and focus on someone new in the summer. Dzeko cannot play in the Champions League though so you cna expect him to play in a lot of Premiership matches with Morata taking the slot during the mid week fixtures.
Another Roma player who has been linked is left-back Emerson Palmieri, who, according to SportsLens has agreed to join on a £42k per week contract. A fee though is yet to be agreed between the two sides for the 23 year old, although a price close to £22m is being reported.
