With preseason underway this week, there are several uncertainties surrounding Chelsea, however, one thing that is clear is that they remain favourites to sign Aleksandar Golovin from CSKA Moscow.
The Blues are yet to appoint a new manager despite widespread reports that Antonio Conte is close to getting the boot and former Napoli boss, Maurizio Sarri is set to be named as their new boss.
Reports in London is claiming that the Blues have already held talks with both SS Napoli and Sarri and they have plans to name the former Empoli manager as their boss as early as 2nd of July.
The appointment of Sarri is expected to speed up plans for the new season and their very next step would be the signing of Golovin. The 22 years old has been one of the stars of Russia’s surprising run to the quarterfinals of this World Cup and he has been attracting the attention of Europe’s big clubs.
Juventus and Manchester United are among his suitors but the Blues are set to use Roman Abramovich’s Russian connection to sign the player for £27 million and make him a key player for the FA Cup holders.
