Chelsea have angered Ruben Loftus-Cheek this summer by rejecting loan offers from AS Monaco and Schalke 04 ahead of the close of the European transfer window.
The World Cup star has played just 22 minutes of football this season and risks losing his place in the Three Lions line up due to lack of playing time.
A product of the Chelsea academy, Loftus-Cheek has found it difficult to break into the club’s first team despite making his debut 4 seasons ago.
He enjoyed so much playing time and impressed at Crystal Palace last season. His form for the Eagles earned him a place in the England squad for the World Cup, and the Eagles wanted him back again this season.
However, Chelsea rejected their advances and told him to forget about leaving because he was part of Maurizio Sarri’s plan for the new season. The midfielder has fallen further down the perking order at Stamford Bridge after Sarri signed both Jorginho and Matteo Kovacic on-loan from Real Madrid.
With the likes of N’Golo Kante, Cesc Fabregas and Ross Barkley ahead of him, it is difficult to see a time when he would be afforded a start this season.
