Chelsea are set to offload Tiemeoue Bakayoko to AC Milan, just one season after he arrived from AS Monaco as a French league winner in a £40 million move.
The French man was signed as a replacement for Nemanja Matic but failed so bad he lost his place in the team’s starting lineup even when Antonio Conte was still in charge.
He was disappointed to miss out on the final 23 man French squad that won the World Cup, and has faced even more disappointments as Maurizio Sarri has declared him surplus to requirements.
He is set to have a medical in Milan this week ahead of a season long loan deal. The Italians would also have the option to buy him for £35 million after the 2018/2019 season, should he impress.
Bakayoko is reported to want to stay and fight for his place under the former Napoli manager, but with the loan signing of Matteo Kovacic, he has fallen further behind the likes of N’Golo Kante, Jorginho, Cesc Fabregas, and the Croatian.
A move to Milan should help him revive his career and save him from the intense scrutiny of the English media.
