Chelsea set to name former Barcelona manager as Antonio Conte’s successor

Chelsea are in a very familiar position with their current manager Antonio Conte once again. The Italian is currently under pressure after two consecutive losses to opponents outside the Premier League’s top ten and his days seem to be numbered.

The Italian has been at loggerheads with the club’s hierarchy for a while now, recently calling on them to back him publicly. But his repeated public shaming of the club’s transfer policies has made his position untenable.

According to Sun Sport, the Italian manager is closer than ever to getting the sack after their 4-1 loss to Watford on Monday, and the man likely to replace him is former Barcelona manager, Luis Enrique.

As a matter of fact, bookmakers, PaddyPower have made Enrique 13-5 favourite to become the next Chelsea manager. The 47 years old is currently on holiday after ending his stint as Barcelona boss at the end of last season.

A spokesperson for the Irish bookmaker claim that Conte’s position has long being under threat, but the Italian keeps upsetting the Odds, however, he believes this time he would get the boot.

Chelsea are currently 4th on the league table, one point behind Liverpool and just a single point ahead of 5th placed Tottenham.
