Chelsea are set to miss out on another transfer target as Bernard seems to be heading to AC Milan.
The Brazilian is one of the most sought-after free agents this summer after he allowed his contract to run out in the Ukrainian league with Shakhtar Donetsk.
The 25 years old looked to be heading to Chelsea a couple of days ago, however, AC Milan have joined the chase and his agent is reported to have flown to the Italian capital to strike a deal.
The Blues have just missed out on signing Aleksandar Golovin who decided to move to AS Monaco instead, and Sarri is keen to secure the services of Bernard.
Bernard left his native Brazil in 2013, and he has since won the Ukrainian league on multiple occasions. Shakhtar wanted to keep him beyond this summer, but the Brazilian has decided to try his luck elsewhere so they released him.
He has several Champions League games under his belt, and scored a fine goal against Manchester City in last season’s Champions League.
Despite his preference of playing in Milan, the Italians are cash-strapped and cannot offer him as much of a financial package as Chelsea would offer.
