Chelsea may lose Ruben Loftus-Cheek this summer despite their insistence that he would not be allowed to leave.
The 22 year old has been told that he is a part of Maurizio Sarri’s plan for the season, however, he was not even in the match day squad for the Blues’ win over Arsenal last weekend.
Talksport claims that the midfielder is set to ask to leave for another loan stint if he cannot be guaranteed playing times under their new manager.
Loftus-Cheek spent the whole of last season on-loan at Crystal Palace. He impressed so much that Gareth Southgate added him to his World Cup squad. However, he fears that remaining on the bench at Stamford Bridge would affect his development and also rob him of further chances in the national team.
The Blues decided to loan Tiemeoue Bakayoko to AC Milan this summer rather than Loftus-Cheek, however, he still has a long way to go in other to feature for the first team.
Ross Barkley is enjoying some resurgence, while Jorginho is integral to Sarri’s game plans. The Blues also secured the signing of Matteo Kovacic on loan from Real Madrid, and the likes of N’Golo Kante and Cesc Fabregas are ahead of him in the pecking order as well.
