Chelsea and AS Roma are battling for the signature of Denmark international Kasper Schmeichel after his heroics at the ongoing World Cup.
The Leicester City shotstopper was in sparkling form for Denmark in their match against Croatia even though he could not stop the Danes from losing the game on penalties.
Schmeichel spent most of last season out of form and missed the last five games through injury however, his stock has risen at this World Cup and he could move to a bigger club.
Chelsea are preparing for life after Thibaut Courtois as the Belgian continues to stall signing a new deal at Stamford Bridge. The Chelsea number one looks likely to move this summer or run down his contract and move for free next summer, the Blues would prefer to cash in and they see Schmeichel as the ideal replacement.
AS Roma are also running the risk of losing Allison this summer with Real Madrid, Liverpool and Chelsea all keen on signing the Brazilian number one.
Schmeichel is heading towards the peak of his career and he would want to play for a bigger team, however, he still has about three more years left on his current deal.
