This season may be Alvaro Morata’s one and only at Stamford Bridge as the Chelsea flop looks closer to the exit door than ever. Morata started his Chelsea career on a high, netting 7 times in his first 8 games, but he has since lost his scoring boot and has struggled to impress at Stamford Bridge.
Olivier Giroud has been preferred to him more recently, and with Antonio Conte’s future in doubt, the Spaniard may be set to leave, with Juventus interested.
According to Sun Sport, the Italians want to take the attacker on loan for a £13 million fee, then pay a transfer fee later that would take the whole deal to £43 million. Morata cost the Blues £60 million in the summer, and it is unclear if they would be willing to cut their losses on him so soon.
Meanwhile, the Blues are eyeing a move for Edison Cavani as PSG are trying to sell some of their star men so they can balance the books and avoid being punished for breaking FFP rules.
Cavani is PSG’s record scorer with 115 goals and he has scored 27 in the Ligue 1 this season. The Blues are believed to be pressing ahead with plans to sign him even though Antonio Conte may not be their manager next season.
