Contrary to numerous reports today Chelsea forward Michy Batshuayi will not be involved in a swap deal with Edin Dzeko as the Roma forward wishes to remain in Italy as their number one striker.
Batshuayi has not looked as promising as first thought for Chelsea and many believe his time at Stamford Bridge could be up. Our sources suggest this is true but that Chelsea are keener to sell rather than send out on loan or a loan to buy deal.
Chelsea still feed the need to bring in a striker this January as backup for Morata but have struggled to find anyone available apart from Carroll. Carroll was an option for them but have serious concerns about his injury which could rule him out for up to a six weeks.
Alex Telles still remains an option as an attacking full-back but as for more firepower up front Chelsea’s search will need to continue.
