November is just around the corner which means it’s another Top international racing event as the 2017 running of the Breeders Cup takes place at Del Mar racecourse. Following the increase in the prize money last year the connections will again be doing battle for the huge prize fund on offer of $28 million over the two stunning days racing.
The shortest priced runner set to race will come as no surprise as the star of Royal Ascot is back as Lady Aurelia races in the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint. The Breeders Cup odds currently have her at 5/4 which comes as no surprise as she cemented herself as one of the best sprinters in recent times as she stormed away to win the King Stand at Royal Ascot. She has raced 7 times in her career winning on 5 occasions with an agonising defeat recently and a 3rd place finish to her name.
The main threat to the sprinting star is expected to come from the British trained Marsha if she travels over for Sir Michael Stoute. Marsha is the current 5/1 second favourite with Paddy Power following her incredible defeat of Lady Aurelia by a nose at York race course in the Coolmore Nunthorpe Stakes. Lady Aurelia looked to have the race in the bag as she stormed clear only to be reeled in agonisingly late by the fast finishing Marsha. She then travelled over to France but finished second to the stunning Battaash in the Prix de l’Abbaye by 4 lengths.
