Borussia Dortmund have switched their attention from one Chelsea attacker to another this summer.
The Germans were working on a deal to make Michy Batshuayi’s loan deal permanent after his successful spell in the Bundesliga, however, Chelsea have appeared reluctant to allow the former Marseille man leave before their new manager is installed.
The Germans have now turned their attention to Morata. The Spaniard made a good start to life in England last season, netting 6 times in his first six games, however, he could only find the back of the net 5 times in the 25 games that followed.
His poor form made the Blues sign Olivier Giroud in the January transfer window, and he looks set to depart Stamford Bridge. Juventus and AC Milan remain keen on bringing him back to the Serie A, but Dortmund are hoping he would choose to join them instead.
Reports from German media claims Morata tops a list of target which includes Max Kruse of Werder Bremen and Hwang Hee-Chan of RB Salzburg.
Chelsea paid £60 million to sign Morata last summer and the Blues would be hopeful of getting more than half that price when he leaves as his value has plummeted.
