Bordeaux are somewhat guilty of starting a bidding war for their young talent Malcom who is of current interest to Arsenal, a player they view as a direct replacement for Theo Walcott who has just joined Everton.
Liverpool though have shown little to no interest in the former Corinthians forward who has netted 15 goals in just under 70 appearances for French side Bordeaux. Despite being only 20 he has shown plenty of glimpses of talent and far reaching potential already.
Whilst he is a player that most would likely want on their books Liverpool are in no rush to spend this window and will instead focus on their summer transfer targets which include Gelson Martins and Monaco’s Lemar.
If you can find a bookies that will take bets on Malcom not being a Liverpool player this January then it will be well worth taking a punt. Should he shine at the World Cup then any deal now would look shrewd as values for young World Cup heroes always skyrocket, only to leave most disappointed after suffering a tournament hangover.
As for a bidding war, should one materialise between Liverpool and Arsenal then it will be of interest as both are financially strong and a move will likely depend on the players preference.
