Arsenal are desperately trying to complete moves for Borussia Dortmund attacker Pierre Emerick Aubameyang and West Brom’s Johnny Evans.
The Gunners have been looking to sign Aubameyang since it became clear that Alexis Sanchez would be leaving the Emirates this month. The Chilean has since joined and made his debut for Manchester United, however, the Gunners have not made much progress in their bid to sign Aubameyang.
The Gabonese attacker has been recalled for Dortmund’s game against Freiburg this weekend, signaling that the deal may be a long way from being completed.
Arsenal have reportedly angered the Dortmund’s board by underbidding for the attacker. The Gunners bided £44 million for the attacker initially before increasing their offer to £50 million. However, Dortmund are holding out for £60 million.
Johnny Evans is another target that Wenger wants to sign this month, but the former Manchester United man is waiting for Manchester City to come for him again this month as a move to the north east would bring him closer to his family.
The transfer window shuts on Wednesday and Wenger knows it would be disastrous for his team if they fail to replace Alexis Sanchez and sign Evans this month.
