Chelsea fan favourite David Luiz could be crossing from West to North London this month according to Daily Star.
The Brazilian has been out of favour at Stamford Bridge since his dismal performance for Chelsea in their 3-0 loss to AS Roma last year, and he has been usurped by young Dane Andreas Christensen.
According to the reports Antonio Conte’s desperation in landing a striker before the transfer window closes tomorrow has forced him to offer Luiz to Arsenal in exchange for Olivier Giroud.
The Gunners have been in talks with West Brom over the transfer of Johnny Evans, but progress has been slow and they might accept Chelsea’s offer. Luiz fits the bill as a towering presence that can bring calm to the Gunners’ defence, and he was a very important team member as Chelsea won the Premier League last season.
At the moment it is unclear if the Blues want a straight swap or if he is willing to pay cash plus Luiz to get Giroud. The French man however, is willing to leave the Emirates as he knows that the arrival of Pierre Emerick Aubameyang would push him further down the pecking order.
