Arsenal are prepared to fight with Chelsea for the signature of Kalidou Koulibaly as the Senegalese looks increasingly close to a move away from Napoli.
Koulibaly has been on Chelsea’s radar since Antonio Conte was made the Blues’ manager two years ago. However, the Italians priced the defender out of a move to west London back then.
He has remained consistent and he is one of the stars of this Napoli side that almost knocked Juventus off their perch as Serie A champions this season.
Reports claim Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri would be named Chelsea boss after they fire Antonio Conte, and the tactician would be bringing Koulibaly along with him to London.
However, the Blues now face competition from Arsenal and Juventus. Max Alegri is said to be planning a summer swoop for the Senegalese star and if he is named Arsenal boss as some sections of the media predicts, he would make Koulibaly his first signing.
Juventus are also looking to sign Koulibaly even if Max Alegri is no longer their boss next season. They see him as an excellent option to help them win the Champions League they have struggled to win over the past couple of seasons.
