Chelsea may be set to lose the services of one of their most experienced midfielders in the next transfer window as his contract comes to its end.
Reports on Sun Sport claims that Cesc Fabregas has become a target of AC Milan who want him to add more experience to their midfield from the second half of the season.
The Spaniard played in the Blues’ Community Shield game against Manchester City, but he has not played any Premier League games this season. The arrival of Matteo Kovacic on loan from Real Madrid, and the signing of Jorginho has pushed Fabregas further down the pecking order under Maurizio Sarri.
The midfielder has under a year left on his current deal and he can start talking to other clubs and even sign a pre-contract agreement in January, but Milan want to fast-track his move to the San Siro, so they plan to give Chelsea some financial incentive in the January transfer window for them to allow the World Cup winner to leave.
Fabregas would not be the only Chelsea star joining Milan this season if he leaves, as Tiemoue Bakayoko has also joined the former European champions on-loan.
