Manchester United have been handed a major boost in their attempt to land Arturo Vidal from Bayern Munich.
The Red Devils are in the market for midfielders as they expect Michael Carrick and Marouane Fellaini to leave them after this season. They had been looking to sign Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk, by the Brazilian has chosen to join Manchester City instead.
The Red Devils also want to sign Jean Michel Seri from Nice, however, Vidal remains their number one choice. The Chilean is also attracting the attention of Chelsea who has his former manager Antonio Conte as their boss.
Reports from German magazine, Kicker is claiming that the Bavarians are ready to offload Vidal after this season. They claim the signing of Leon Goretzka from Schalke is an indication that they are ready for life without him.
Vidal also faces more competition from the likes of Thiago Alcantara and Corentin Tolliso next season and would be better off leaving the Allianz Arena.
Manchester United now hope to beat Chelsea to his signature. They currently have the upper hand over the Blues as the future of Antonio Conte is far from certain and reports are claiming this would be his last season at Stamford Bridge.
