Manchester United have decided against signing a new left back this summer after the addition of Diogo Dalot and they have now backed out of a deal for Danny Rose.
The Red Devils have been trying to sign Danny Rose since last summer as Jose Mourinho got frustrated with the performances of his natural leftbacks. Ashley Young has had to deputize for the underperforming Luke Shaw throughout last season and a move for Rose looked to be imminent.
However, with the signing of Dalot, Mourinho is happy to invest in other areas of his team and he has told Ed Woodward to pull the plug on the transfer of Rose, according to Daily Mirror.
Rose had criticized Spurs for their lack of investment in their squad last summer in an interview with The Sun, and it seemed as if he was deliberately plotting a move away from White Hart Lane, however, he would now have to remain with Mauricio Pochettino’s side and hopes he gets a new deal.
Daley Blind offers United another option at leftback after the club triggered an extension in his contract that would see him remain at Old Trafford for at least one more season.
