Jose Mourinho has turned his attention to the French Ligue 1 as he looks to bolster his midfield next summer.
Central midfield is a position that Manchester United hope to strengthen when the next transfer window opens as the Red Devils face the prospect of losing Marouane Fellaini as well as Michael Carrick.
Carrick is set to retire after this season with the former England midfielder already guaranteed a place as a member of Jose Mourinho’s backroom staff, while Fellaini has rejected signing a new Manchester United deal and has told the club he wants a new challenge.
According to Sun Sport, Nice Ivorian star Jean Michel Seri is the midfielder that Jose Mourinho believes can come in to help fill the void that would be left by those two important departures.
Seri has been attracting the attention of top European sides for the past two seasons and came very close to joining Barcelona last summer before Nice decided against selling him.
The Ivorian currently has just two years left on his Nice deal, but even more importantly has a release clause of just £33 million. Mourinho is also targeting Monaco’s Fabinho and could move for the two stars if he fails to convince Fellaini to stay.
