Arsenal are set to splash the cash of RB Leipzig goal machine, Timo Werner after he rejected a new deal from the Germans.
The 21 years old is one of Europe’s top attackers and was the highest scoring German in the Bundesliga last season. He has continued his hot goal scoring form in front of goal this season with 16 strikes in 29 games.
He scored twice as Liepzig came from a goal down to beat Napoli in the Europa League on Thursday and Sun Sport claims Arsenal had a scout there watching him.
The Gunners are not the only team interested in the former VFL Stuttgart attacker who has 7 goals in 10 appearances for Germany. Real and Atletico Madrid as well as Bayern Munich are also interested in taking him away from his unpopular German side.
Werner has reportedly rejected a new contract offer from Leipzig making it easy to see that he is keen on taking up a new challenge.
Jurgen Klopp also wants Werner, but the German manager is currently happy with his attacking options, except he has to sell one of Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino, he is happy to allow Werner join another team.
